Climbing stairs in a building.

I climb the stairs in my apartment building. Obviously I don't need GPS-tracking for this activity and am wondering whether using the Stairclimber mode will count the stairs climbed using the pressure sensor or if that feature is disabled (since machine workouts don't need it).

Using a brand-new Surge.

You can try this, select the exercise type of workout. Climb the stairs and pause the exercise. Take the elevator down and restart the exercise when you are ready to climb the stairs. Rinse and repeat.

Your fitbit will count floors climbed without having to use any tracking mode. All you need to do is wear your Surge.

Thanks for replying, but I want to time the exercise, as well. Each " lap" being 29 floors, between which I take the elevator down and start over.

How would I do this?
