Connected GPS option for surge

Is there any way there could be a software update for the surge to include connected GPS. I love the fact that I don't need my phone to workout with my surge. But would be great if when I do have my phone I could use it's GPS. This would improve connection time, conserve surge battery life and probably improve accuracy (if that matters).
Let's keep surge as a hardcore fitness watch that does it all.

That be splendiferous, if it would be possible to choose between which gps to choose.

Feel free to add your suggestions to the 'Feature Requests' Sub Forum, where users can vote, add comments,.. if there's a certain interest then there's a chance the developers pick it up and it'll be developed.

Battery life will not be improved, because you will use Bluettooth all time.
