I'm posting this because I'm pretty frustrated that a $250 item is not designed to last more than 6 months.
I bought my first Surge April 2016 and had it replaced under warranty about 5 or 6 months later due to the band pulling apart from the screws on the underside. They sent me a new one and this one has lasted another 6 months and the band is now bubbled. I was told that I'm out of warranty now so they won't replace it. Had I bought the extended warranty they would have covered it...wow, thanks. On top of this, they said they would give me a 25% "discount" if I wanted to just buy a new one that would come with a new warranty. Awesome! Awfully expensive when it's meant to be a disposable device. Super unhappy with Fitbit!

Check the forums for "broken surge band, surge band bubbling" as others have had the same issue and have found non fitbit replacement bands on Amazon, eBay and a couple other sites. There is also a site on you tube that explains how to change the band. The ones who have done this say it is easier than you think and works so they don't need to replace the tracker unless there's another issue.
