It will count steps when on a bus as it is bumpy. A lot of people use An App on thier phone called DriveBit to take of the false steps.

You can also enter a driving record to remove them.

Glad to see you on board @Jim0 and @Prajwal12Heart

That's really odd @Jim0! Where did you leave your Fitbit on, it's very sensitive to the movement and weather changes but that amount of steps and floors sounds too much. Did you wear it and then take it off? Where you driving at that time? Is this the first time that it happens to you? This information will help to determine what happened to your tracker. Smiley Embarassed

Your tracker detects floors using an altimeter, which is a sensor that calculates altitude based on atmospheric pressure. Though your tracker is designed to look for pressure changes based on elevation gains, pressure changes due to other causes, such as a gust of wind, a weather change, or opening a door, CA, place your tracker near to window's car when driving also; can occasionally cause your tracker to register an extra floor or two.

You can try @WendyB suggestion or you can charge your Surge while driving, so it won't detect information during that time. Smiley Wink

I'll be around in case that you have questions about it. Smiley Very Happy

Thanks for getting back @Jim0! That's useful information. Driving a few hills might be giving your Surge those extra steps. Smiley Embarassed

Check your Dashboard online to know exactly at what time they were detected to be sure. See this picture. You can click on "Steps" to see the exact time. Smiley Surprised

You can delete those steps by entering a "Driving" activity for that time. As a suggestion next time you can "Shut down" your Surge while driving, you will find the option on your watch "Settings". Smiley Wink
