Surge purchased in September 2016.  Worn continuously until the screen cracked early April 2017. On contacting Fitbit was informed that their records show the Surge associated with my email had been replaced in December 2016. Told them this was impossible as it hadn't left my wrist but they insisted but said that it would be fixed/replaced if I send it to -

Hi, i have the Charge HR which was replaced in December due to a faulty band, im now having the same issue with the replacement and have had exactly the same response from FITBIT telling me to return it to the netherlands address at my cost. So i think its legitimate rather than a hoax, all be it disgusting service!  i got the below:

Our records show that this tracker was previously replaced in December, 2016.

Based on our research, we can replace your tracker once we receive it from you. You will need to ship it to Fitbit at your own expense. Once we receive your tracker we’ll send you a replacement.

We need you to return the tracker to us at the address below. To expedite the process, reply to this email with the tracking number of your shipped package.
