DIY Repair of Fitbit Surge Band

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Has anyone repaired the bubbling on their Surge band?  My band has a bubble just below face which would appear to be delamination of some sort. The bubble is increasing in size😤  I've read of other instances of this phenomena, but nothing about attempted and or successful DIY repair.  Anybody tried?  My Surge is out of warranty and has already been replaced once so don't expect any assistance from Fitbit.  Would ignore it but it really catches your attention every time you look at it😡  I like my Surge but will not buy a configuration that limits repair and or replacement of components again.  This tracker is too expensive to have as many issues that are being experienced by buyers.

Can you post a picture? Not sure I understand the problem. I just replaced the band tonight, so this might be a solution for you

If you want to replace the band, search Amazon for "Etoper Replacement Large Strap Band for Fitbit Surge Watch Fitness Tracker WatchBand Wrist Band Wristband Silicone Accessories Black". I just replaced my band tonight, and I am cautiously optimistic. But why do you worry about the bubble? It's not normal, but... is it affecting anything?

Not at this juncture. Only cosmetic but, as I indicated, it is growing larger every day. Was thinking that I might be able to get some glue in the bubble with a syringe but usually make a mess when I attempt DIY projects😜. Thx again for your replies. I will google replacement bands if bubble gets out of control. Sort of like a sinkhole here in Florida😵

Mine went from a bubble to actual separation from the band.  Almost as though the adhesive failed.  I have also met another person who had the same issue.  I contacted Fitbit and they had no advice.

I still use it but am concerned about water leaking into the system.

Understand there is a third party band on Amazon. At this juncture, I'm looking at an Apple Watch for a replacement. For $50 or not much more $ than new Fitbit, I will go with that option. If you need link for 3rd party band, review all replies to my post or let me know and I will forward it to you. Thx for sharing your experience. It is really a shame there have been issues with the Surge as I have really liked it. However, quality issues exceed the cost of the product.

@JulianneA If the band is the only issue, Amazon and E-bay sell aftermarket replacements and YouTube has "How to" video's to assist in the replacement process. Good luck.

JullianneA,

I am getting Amazon ads for replacement Surge bands (at least 3 different sources) based on a Google search I had done previously. All are receiving good customer reviews and they're all under $15. Might be an option for you. Good luck.
