Deleting old data on 2nd hand Surge on PC only

I'm sure this has been done before but none of the answers I've found so far have helped me.  I got a Surge, 2nd hand today.  I set up the app on my phone, went through the 'join' process, and that's all fine and brand new, but when I log into my online account, I have data from the last year on there.  Steps, floors, calories.

I have deleted the one activity that was logged in 'activity history', but the bar graph with steps / distance / floors / calories burned still has data from before I owned the Surge.

I went for a run this morning, so ideally I'd like to remove old data whilst retaining today's, but I recognise this may not be possible. I have tried the help article 'can I delete data?' but cannot work out how to follow step 4: "In the activity menu, type in "Driving" and enter the duration and start time".  Can anyone help, please?

Thanks

@HJC123, those data should not have carried over. I would suggest getting in touch with Fitbit Support and seeing if they can help you.
