I bought a Surge two weeks ago to help me train for distance running. I bought it for the heartbeat and GPS functions which work fine. What i cannot find is where the Fitbit app or website add up my weekly, monthly and annual mileage ? I also want to see how my last run compared to previous ones on the same route.... faster, slower, or about the same time.
this is supposed to be a running watch so i am hoping this information exists on the app. If not i will likely be returning the watch to find another brand. Adding up miles is as basic as it gets for fitness watch.
Last thought, is there a non-fitbit app that is compatible with my surge and will automatically sync up my run data and give me the mileage totals that i am looking for ? I have an iphone and ipad if that matters.
Thanks in advance for any help.

For me its Strava, you can have it automatically upload and you can do all the comparisons on previous, distance totals etc. Like you I was alittle dissapointed with the lake of running functions after I received the Surge for a gift this Christmas. You can noteven see splits after a free run to see how your've gone without using mobile and not on Fitbit app, but again I have to go to Strava. The Strava phone app is agreat little device. Its a shame the Fitbit Surge is not everything we thought it would be.

I export my GPS logged runs to TCX files and then import them into Runkeeper. IMHO, the Surge is a great fitness tracker, but I prefer other logging options and Runkeeper works great for me.

Thanks for the heads up about Strava. I wish Runkeeper did that with fitbit.

Thanks, A-J. Yours is a super post ! I down loaded Strava and it looks like what i want. It automatically loaded my runs from the last week which was nice. Only bad feature i found is you can only edit a run's description once then it locks it up. If anyone else tries this, i found using a computer and going to the Strava and Fit Bit websites work best. Apps on my phone did not let me sync the past run automatically as it only gave Garmin as a choice. On the website there are choices of 10-12 companies that Stava works with including Fit Bit and you can set up the auto sync there.
