I have a surge fitbit, I am wonderin
g if I do spinning in exercise mode, does it give you step count as well

Hi @SunsetRunner! Thanks for popping by the forums. As @WendyB said, it will sense a couple of steps gathered from the movements of hand, since your tracker was desinged to track step based routines, They won't be that many, so it won't affect your overall stats for the day. Most of the time after you sync your spinning activity you will see Step recorded as N/A (not applicable).
You should definitely give it a try to see how this works for you. On the Shortcuts in the Fitbit Surge display, pick the option "Spinning". If it is not there you can add it.
