I have a Samsung 5 and a Fitbit Surge. How do you permanently turn off the driving mode?

Hi @Apruett1999

There's no driving mode available on the Surge,.. are you using any third party app to log driving?

Not that I know of. It has never happened before I had the Surge.

As you haven't told us what happened, we don't really know what you're talking about I'm afraid.

I've never heard of any "driving mode" on the Surge. I have had one since it launched and have seen no mention of it.

What are you referring to?

So here is what happens to me while driving..... Today while making a trip of about 25 miles the Surge clocked me in for an extra 60 steps, that I never took. I made sure to keep a log of when i got to the car and logged again before getting out.

Is this normal and how can I avoid this from happening again ?? I drive a lot.....

Thank you

@SunsetRunnerFunny you say that, because I have a surge that I gave my wife (It didn't fit me well and I bought the next bigger one).  We activated it to her account last night and today she said it popped up and asked her if she wanted to set up driving mode.  She clicked yes and now she said she can't get it out of driving mode.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Perhaps you could describe what the effect of this mode is (what's displayed, what the buttons do etc)?

@MikeF I think I figured it out.  It is apparently an incompatability between the Fitbit App and the Verizon Message+ app on my wife's Galaxy S5.  Found on an Android Forum that it was causing someone elses to do the same.  I am not home and she was just relaying to me through messenger, so I will update later once I find out if that was definitley the problem...but it appears to be apps on the phone, not the Surge.

Did anyone find out how to turn off driving mode with their Samsung and fitbit? It's making me crazy. When you activate bluetooth, driving mode turns on the phone. I'll check the Verizon community.

The driving mode is actually on your Message+ on your Samsung Galaxy.  Go into settings on there and uncheck your Fitbit Surge.
