Exclamation mark on my display

This afternoon while attending a football game I noticed my Surge had only an exclamation point in the display and was non-responsive to any buttons. It would not re-start at all.  Later in the afternoon it was back but with the incorrect time. Shortly it was back with the exclamation point.  Around half time of the game the display was back with the incorrect time. I then was able to sync it with my phone and now all is well.

I'm just curious as to what caused this.

If you were sitting still in direct sunlight the Surge could have oveheated, causing it to shut down to avoid damage internally.  Once your Surge cooled off it restarted, but could have lost time during the period it was forceably shut down.  When it was responsive again you were able to sync and update the time.

I think this is the most likely explanation.

Sense, Charge 5, Inspire 2; iOS and Android
