Hi All,

I was wondering can you have a factory reset on Surge? Thinking about giving it away - I have had it for 2 years and still in great condition - I had an upgrade to Fitbit Versa that I bought today and I think will be happy with it.

Many thanks 🙂

Accepted Solutions

It will reset it self when who ever you give it to sets it up. Just sync one last time before turing it over

It didn't work the way you suggested.

When it was was removed from one account and then added and synched to another account, all the data (step count, rest rates, etc), and even some settings, were added to the new account. It even produced a few "trophies".

Any idea how how to fix this?

Is there a way way to remove data from an account or reset it?

is there a way to physically factory reset/restore a Fitbit Surge (by button press, etc) to wipe all the current data?

Thanks for your help with this

Hi @ATektoo thanks for stopping by! Thanks for joining this family, hope you like what find here! Smiley Happy

Thanks for trying the suggested steps. This is an unexpected behavior the one that you're sharing, as it shouldn't be transferring that data or trophies to the new Fitbit Account. The only possible solution is to delete this Fitbit Account, then wait for the deleting process to finish, to recreate the account again to start from zero. It takes time and you will have to do it directly with support team. I can open a case for you if you wish or you can reach them out directly to get a faster response. Cat Happy

Now about the factory reset to wipe all data, it should be enough just to give a last sync in the old account, restart the Fitbit and then pair it in a new account. I'm not sure what happened in your case, but there is no other way. You can create a new account using a second email address to see if this works this time. Sorry for the inconvenience you've had during this process. Smiley Embarassed
