Same issue, same advice from fitbit support, with exactly the same result. Like I said, I managed to get my device visible on the app by connecting it to my laptop. Once it' configured on there all your apps wherever they be installed will be able to see the device. Bluetooth is gone for now. Like I said, maybe a further update wI'll fix this.

I had the exact same problem. After a day of troubleshooting with fitbit support, a call has been officially logged.

I did experiment myself by connecting my surge directly to my laptop using the usb cable, installing the fitbit app via the windows app store and then syncing it. This worked. However, the firmware update definitely stopped the bluetooth from working on my Surge. I suspect that only another firmware update will fix this issue!! Very annoying.

Annoying it sure is, but as always I am always comforted somewhat when I see that it's not just me or my Surge.

I tried the proposed solution but couldn't get it to work. I might have gotten confused with 'device' though. I sync my Surge via a Samsung tablet; by device is it the Surge itself or the tablet that can help fix this issue?  I tried both with no luck but might have hooked it up to the laptop incorrectly.

What I proposed will not fix the bluetooth. That unfortunately has been broken by the firmware update. If you'e followed the troubleshooting tips you would have likely removed every trace of the fitbit from your phone and the app. You can however connect your fitbit to a windows desktop/laptop via USB cable and get the dashboard to see fitbit again and perform syncs. However, until the bluetooth issue is resolved, if it can be that is! You'l have to sync via the usb cable to you windows desktop/laptop. That is the only option, until the bluetooth issue is resolved. I on the other hand will be trying to get a warranty replacement, as this is not acceptable.

Hmm, not looking good for me in that case, I hooked up the Surge to the laptop via the USB cable but the computer won't recognise it. I get a message saying the computer doesn't recognise the device attached. **ahem** annoying, it seems that every month or so some new issue is arising.
