I'll be honest, I got my Surge as a Christmas Present in 2015 and love it. I wore it for 3 months, then fell off the wagon. I then started wearing again in earnest Sept 2016. Shortly thereafter I noticed the wristband was breaking at the screws behine the fitbit. So I contacted FitBit recently and they are sending me a new Surge. Now, I am a handy guy, so I decided that I could fix what is wrong with my current surge and guess what. For less than 3 cents I did it.
Here's my fix. Take a peice of electrical tape 3 inches long and then pry the cracked rubber under the screws to it looking like factory. Then apply the tape on the bottom and wrap it once around very tightly. Be cautious to follow the line of the Fit Bit. Once you do that your FitBit won't be able to crack any more as the tape will hold it in place.
As a note, this looks really nice and not at all like a home repair. Just be patient when wrapping and make sure it is tight. Cut the tape off where you can;t see it. I picked the bottom side.
