Fitbit Plugged In at night--Woke to 8.2 Mies Walked & 1300 Calories Burned?

This is the third night in a row that my tracker (plugged in and in the next room) has recorded high mileage and calories in the middle of the night while I'm asleep.  It's logged over 2.4 miles and 700 calories twice, and this morning it was "vibrating" when I went to unplug it and it already had 8.2 miles and 1300 calories logged for today?  I've been having trouble syncing on the PC, so just started using the phone instead, but nothing like this has ever happened? I've rebooted, uninstalled, reinstalled, etc etc...

Is there a fan in the room? As it will cause false readings.

No, very quiet room.  Good thought though, thanks!

My surge has been doing this for about a week now.  I woke up to 48,000+ steps this morning.  It was charging last night.  Some days, like last night right before I charged it, I can watch the steps increasing as I stand motionless.  And, my heartrate monitor is acting up.  It seems to be having a hard time finding a pulse, I guess.  You are not alone.

Try a restart. Sometimes doing it a few times helps.

I had a similar issue when a service attached to my fitbit account freaked out. I unlinked pretty much everything from my account and it took a few days to sort things out.

Thanks,

That gave me an idea to check the two apps that are attached to my Surge.  They both needed and update.  I will monitor and see if that helps.

I had shutdown several times.  I let it sit for about 3 hours, turned off, then plugged it in to charge for today.  Who knows.

I don't have any apps attached to mine. The "fix" I'm going to attempt tonight is to turn Bluetooth off on my phone and plug directly into my pc running Windows 10 instead of using an outlet charger, which is how I normally sync/charge. I was able to get a legitimate sync plugging directly into the pc today, but the watch kept vibrating intermittently? Not sure if it's a solution, but worth a shot! The other things I've attempted today are to 1) uninstall and reinstall Fitbit connect again 2) turn the watch off completely and back on via settings instead of just rebooting 3) forgetting the device on Bluetooth via pc and phone, and re-pairing. I'm out of options so hopefully one of those combinations did the trick!

Hello @fit1u2@RunningTexan and @metric152! As @WendyB mentioned it is possible your tracker is near a fan or a device that might be counting your steps while not wearing it. My advise is to verify where you left your tracker, and turn off the heart rate this should help. If after this you are still seeing your steps recorded while not wearing it please contact our support team for assistance. They can take a look at your tracker's back-end information and provide you personalized assistance. Let them know you already reviewed the place you left your tracker and turned off the heart rate to save some time. @WendyB and @metric152 thanks for your cooperation! 😉

Keep me posted!
