The fitbit products are made with poor materials and poor workmanship - the one year warranty may help replace your fitbit but it is very likely will not last more than a year - they you have the option of buying a new one - sometimetimes you may get a 25% discount. So my suggestion dont go there - I have spent over $800.00 on fitbits and thats it no more

I got my Fitbit One on July 2013, so I've worn it every day for close to 1200 days and it still works and keeps a charge consistently (at least 8 days, I know since I keep the low notification e-mails).
This certainly contradicts the "made with poor materials and poor workmanship" and "very likely will not last more than a year" theory.

I have been with the Fitbit community since 2013, most recently with the Surge. I have had 2 Surge's with broken band issues and now the battery wont hold a charge. Customer service says that since the limited warranty is 365 days from the initial purchase date that I am outside of that window and they can only give me a 25% discount on the purchase of a new device. So I can shell out $200+ for another product that I know from experience will break again or I can go elsewhere to something that will last longer than 6 months without breaking. This is very disappointing as I was a great fan of Fitbit and raved about their customer service. They know their product doesnt last very long and there is no way to repair them forcing consumer to purchase another replacement product, quite a marketing scheme! Advertise it as a disposable tracker!
Sad to leave and now I have to start over building my steps.

The Fitbit one does not have a band and the issues people are having are with the bands breaking. I had 2 Surges that the bands broke on each of them after 6 months.

and mine 7/7d 24/24h is good after 15 months
