Hello Community:
I was wondering, could somebody please enlighten me on the difference in fitbit surge's exercise options of "Weights" vs "workouts?" The other options (circuit training, pilates, yoga, walk, etc.) are pretty clear, but I'm still confused as to when "weights" or "workouts" is used. I know "weights" is, obviously when weightlifting/strength training, but then... what would "workouts" be used for?
Thanks,

Workout, as far as I can tell though I can not find any official statements from Fitbit regarding it. Is the anything goes mode I like to throw workout on when I am on the road working out in the hotel room etc.... or when ever I am doing a Hodge podge workout that involves yoga, jump rope, body resistance training maybe a light jog or stationary bike. Does that help? Its kinda anything goes.

I tend to think of "workout" as generic (and Fitbit seems to agree, since the iOS app wants you to categorize it), and "weights" as a specific type, but the underlying recording is the same. I think.
The real question is if Fitbit does any post-processing differently, and that I would like to know, as well. (I tend to do all time in the gym as "workout", weights or otherwise, and if they really are different other than the name, I'll adapt accordingly.)

As far as I understand, it doesn't really matter which workout you choose, unless it has GPS tracking in it (like running). I think the sole purpose of choosing the right type of workout is for your own documentation. When your workouts are presented to you in the app (or website), it's nice to have a matching classification for each sort of workout.
I might be mistaken, but I think there's nothing else to it.
