Ok so I just noticed that everytime I pat my kids (Dogs) .. pet them or pretty much look at them my surge counts them at steps .... It now makes sence that I have been getting over 2400 steps more than my old counter was .. I thought for sure the old counter sucked .. but to find out no .. I just seem to really LOVE my dogs! .....

Well ... it seems that it will count belly rubs on my dog as well! ... lol .... hummmmmmm

Sorry but that's what all wrist trackers do. You move your arms or hands it will count as steps.

How about patting your dogs with your other hand? Smiley Wink

Seriously, any wrist worn tracker can only infer what you are doing when it moves. It could be programmed to only count arm movements as steps when combined with GPS data but that would mean the GPS needs to be on all the time and it wouldn't work indoors.
