I have just received the fitbit surge and I'm quite frustrated and dissatisfied with the results. This product was purchased directly from the fitbit website.
I am NOT able to sync up the fitbit surge with my Moto X, to be specific my model # is XT1575. The Bluetooth version I have is 4.1 and according to the Fitbit website, Moto X (year 2013 & 2014 are acceptable devices). The app would find surge, and ask for the 4 digits, thereafter, the phone would get stuck at "Connecting" and nothing will happen. After 5 minutes, I'd restart the app and I see the device somehow synced. When I go to "sync now". I get failure to sync message.
I tried syncing to my windows 10 application using the dongle. I was able to enter the 4 digit number and the app kept spinning on "finishing up" and after 5 minutes, I just closed the application because it failed.
At this point, there is no way I can pair to the fitbit surge in any way. I have spent a good amount of money for this and something that should take 5 minutes is taking close to 3 hours. Please help if anyone has run into this situation before.

Thanks for trying all those steps, you've done a good job researching that information! But @SunsetRunner might be right about the restart, as you already tried to use the computer too. Why don't you give it a try again, you can see this information on how to reconnect your Fitbit with an Android device. Remember to confirm that both your phone and Fitbit app are up to date please.
If the Fitbit is not working we'll check the next step later on. I hope this helps!
