Fitbit Surge not tracking correct steps/mileage

Hi,

I've noticed that my Fitbit Surge is not tracking the correct amount of steps or mileage for my treadmill runs. Both my iPhone and the treadmill data matches, but my fitbit shows something different. For example, I had a 4 mile run on the treadmill, but the Fitbit had it at 3.3miles. 

Steps: Lately it hasn't been tracking all my steps either. I counted 100 steps and it only tracked about 60. 

 

Thoughts? Is there a way to calibrate the Fitbit Surge? 

 

Please advise.

I have felt the step count for the last month or so has not been accurate at all. I think there is a problem with the surge count in general. Out of interest how old is yours? Mine is about 9 months and I wondervif it another 'wearing down' fault.
