That would be moisture @bshelmer (been there, done that)
Grab a ziplock bag and fill it 1/3 full of dry raw rice, drop your Surge in the sealed ziplock for a day or two then pull it out and hold the left and bottom right buttons together until the display brightens then slowly dims to shutoff. There should be enough battery life if you've charged it within the last couple of days, otherwise you may have to hook up your charge cable for 10 minutes before resuscitating your best bud!
Remember the Surge has an altimeter hole, anything short of a mist will creep into the inner works through the access hole, all good - you can do this, just a matter of drying things out, the rice will create a temporary mini desert for it. Thanks for asking!
