Is there a way to see my recent activity history and stats on my device (ie not going to the app or dashboard but seeing it on the watch)?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @JoJo_CT. It's great to have you here. I'm afraid there is actually no option to see your recent activity history on the Fitbit Surge. You are welcome to place a suggestion in the Feature Request board. If any update is available it will be announced as soon as possible.
