On longer bike rides the screen on my surge gets foggy making it difficult to read the data. After the ride it eventually clears up. Is this common? Is there a "fix"?

I am unclear why this is considered a solution as, from reading the posts, no one is exceeding the environmental limitations of the watch. We need a solution to repair the existing watch. Where is the moisture incursion occurring and how do we seal the watch to prevent it.
I am on my 2nd surge, after the 1st one was replaced under warranty because it fell apart and caused a nasty reaction with my skin under the band. My replacement surge lasted only 6 months before the fogging issue started on a humid day last August. It now fogs up whenever ambient humidity is high making the watch unusable for much of the year. Fitbit would not replace the 2nd watch as i had now exceeded the 1 year warranty period but offered me a 25% discount on a new device. I feel I should be able to expect better longevity and support from Fitbit for what was at the time their top of the line product. Unfortunately, after my experience with my 2 Surges I do not feel confident in return of value should I purchase another device.

My solution was to switch to Garmin Vivofit. It's no where near as delicate
as my old Fitbit. Made it through the rest of my deployment without issue.

Same sentiments here - from a sustainability perspective things should be kept in circulation far longer than fitbit seem to think. Used as a sports watch these things fail well within 18 months. If the 25% discount isn't insulting enough then fit bit's total lack of interest in getting their old products back is pretty shameful (should they replace which they have once for me due to the strap failure). Fitbit please take note of the world's growing need for #rightorepair & #circulareconomy where producer responsibility for product failure / low life span will increasingly become reasons consumers walk away. You're in trouble financially already but keeping your existing customers should be your No.1 priority...we like our data which will stop if we migrate away.
