GPS and Calorie count differences

There's lots of posts and articles about these trackers not being very accurate.  I bike, and use my Surge (gps on/exercise mode set to bike) and the iPhone app - Map My Ride, to try to get an idea of what my expenditures are.  But the two trackers are WAY off to the point it's not even comparable.  What's the solution?  Is there a standard error rate I can factor into my Surge number to get a better "guestimation"?

Hi there @holmsher! It's great to see your face on the Forums, welcome! Woman Happy

Guess you're right, there are some comments about Fitbit trackers. You can read more about Fitbit accuracy in this article. About your inquiry regarding calories burned since you're comparing 2 different brands you won't have similar reading since these two technologies work in different way too.

You mentioned you're using the option "Bike" in your Surge plus your MapMyRide App on your phone, right? I'm curious to see how different they are! As if you placed the correct information in your Fitbit profile, calories burned should be accurate. Is the rest of starts correct? For example time, distance, GPS information?
