I have a Surge, is there a way to turn the GPS OFF? I wear my fit bit to work to track my steps ETC. I work anywhere from 10 to 12 hours a day. The battery will not make it thru the entire day. I thought a charge would last up to 7 days.

GPS is only on if you use certain activities that engage it; Running, Bicycling, Walking.

If you just wear it normally, it will count you steps, hr, etc. with no gps. You have to manually turn on gps by starting an activity on your surge- like running, hiking, etc.

To add to what the others have said, there is also an icon on screen when the GPS is active so it should be pretty clear in use that's it's off at all times except when certain exercise modes are active.
