I track my exercise but after I log it onto the dashboard it never changes the regular step count/mileage. What am I doing wrong?

How do you track your exercise?  With your Surge?  Are you synching your Surge after you exercise?

Are you manually logging the exercise, after tracking it with some third party unit?

Only step based distance gets added onto the days miles.

Yes, I select outdoor bicycling on my surge. I use the GPS tracking. I then go to my dashboard and manually log it under exercise. I then sync my surge and nothing happens

Skip the manually logging step, just synch your Surge and you'll be good to go.
