Heart rate monitoring whilst in spin exercise

My surge gave completely erroneous heart beat record compared to that given on the spin bike control screen and that taken manually over six different times. One time Surge said 79 BPM; spin bike said 102; taken by hand 100. Another time Surge said 85; spin bike 120; taken by hand count 122. The surge was in the spin exercise mode. The read out on the computer said 9 mins spin and some 30 calories burnt. I was on the bike for 20 minutes and burnt 159 calories according to the control screen on the bike. Conclusion. Surge not fit for purpose.

Yes, HR inaccuracy while performing various exercises has been reported in this forum and on the Internet in reviews. There is no support for bluetooth chest strap, so if Surge doesn't accurately track HR then I recommend returning it.

Aria, Fitbit MobileTrack on iOS. Previous: Flex, Force, Surge, Blaze
