How long should an expensive product last?

My fitbit surge has gone wrong in three ways.

1. One button just doesn't work

2. Fails to sync with phone

3. Strap torn away from main body of watch.

This is clearly a faulty product. A little outside the warranty,  I am not trying to get a free repair.  However I am not prepared to accept that a product that cost over £200 should be thrown away after 3 years. It is a shocking extension of the throw away Society.   And yet all fitbit offers (in its truly awful call centres who cut you off and never call you back).   Truly terrible product,  truly terrible customer care.

Mine Lasted close to 4 years. Was in perfect shape. But the battery finally died. These batteries dont last forever

I think a lot comes into play as how well you take care of it

Apple expects the AW to fail at the 3 year mark. I know many with 5-6 year old Fitbits.
