How to register new text notification applications?

I have a surge and on the fit bit app, under text notification, I can see message, hangout and whatsapp.

Is there a way to add a new app?
How does fitbit decide what app is available?

I have other apps that publish notifications but can't get it to sync to the surge

A warm welcome to the Community @Miscemayl. Do the following from your Android Fitbit app to choose which messages you want to receive:

  1. Tap Surge
  2. Tap Calls/Texts Notifications
  3. Tap Texts notifications
  4. Choose the app you want to get messages from

Now about the apps, it will depend on the app you have. If the app you want to add doesn't appear in the list it means that it is not compatible.

The app I want to add is not on the list.

Is there anything I can do to add it?
Does it require special type of notifications?
