I can find no replacement strap for my Surge

So my Fitbit Surge strap has broken after about 16 months. I can find no replacement strap and judging by the forum there is no solution other than buying a new watch??? So every year to year and a half we are to spend $300 on a watch??? Im advising people away from this product.

You had better try and fix it yourself as there is no help if you are out of warranty. The factory makes straps for the watches, and yet they can't make some to sell for repairs??? Sad really...

My husband this morning asked me to look for a new band for his Surge as it to is breaking away from the face. What I'm finding is making me very pissed off. How can Fitbit's flag ship device not have replace bands to buy. I'm not going to recommend Fitbit to my friends ever again.

I have had two different Surge devices with band issues. Both devices' bands began bubbling and coming apart near the watch face only a few months after I received them. This is frustrating and disappointing, especially given the cost. It is even more frustrating that after my original device was replaced, the replacement had the same issues but is held to the warranty period of my first device. I've owned two FitBit Surges in less last a year a half. Obviously, I have some concerns about this specific model and would want to switch models. However, a 30% discount is insulting considering the original purchase price of my first device. Keep in mind, I purchased it less than a year and a half ago. Overall, I'm glad I will have my device replaced (Although I didn't enjoy being made to feel like someone was doing me a favor by giving me a replacement.) but highly frustrated with what appears to be a cycle.

Due to this issue and the total lack of support from Fitbit I do not recommend Fitbit to anyone I know. I have even talked to people looking at them to relay my experience. When you start to look around about this issue it is amazing how many people are in the same situation. I think I will go with the Apple watch next...

The issue is when they have passed the warranty period. Its like buying a new car and after the warranty period being told that there is nothing they can do and you cant buy parts for it. The watch strap gets the most abuse of the watch. You are always putting the watch on and off. It takes stress by catching on things and getting pulled. So its not a leap to think that the strap might have to be replaced at some point. All the other watches have replaceable straps but not their most expensive one??? I now have a $300 paper weight.

I had problems with cracking round the screws, luckily I was in warranty and got a new replacement.
I superglued the old one and it is fine.

If you are out of warranty you CAN get a 3rd party replacement band, just google it. There are also videos on line about fitting the new band. The problem is that the BT antenna is resting on one side of the band near the edge of the watch face, you can if you are careful remove this and put it on the new band. You might break it though, but if you are out of warranty anyway you are no worse off.

Well the very polite people at Fitbit told me I could get 25% off the purchase of a new Fitbit Surge. I did not accept that as a reasonable solution. Their next option was for me to just  buy a new one that is cheaper and pay the full cost....

Ya not so much. Time to look at other activity watches. My friend just bought an Apple watch and is very happy with it so I will look at those.

Goodbye Fitbit.
