I can't reset calories

The calories screen always shows some crazy amount of calories that I definitely did not burn. I now have to subtract my end number from the beginning number to see how many calories I burned after a workout. I through it was supposed to reset each day? It's honestly making me not want to use my Fitbit because I feel like it's defective. Does anyone have a solution for this? Honestly this thing is too expensive to not work properly.

The calories burned are BMR calories. Your fitbit also calculates calories burned for your BMR. You burn calories just by being alive! Even Sleeping. Fitbit includes these burned calories in it's calorie calculations, so even if you did not wear the fitbit, you'll still burn these calories.

Thanks for joining us @Paradisefit! I agree with @WendyB, your tracker will reset at midnight, then it will start calculating the calories is burning while sleeping to by the time you get up you will see an amount of calories already there, this is awesome when you start your activities all the workouts or steps calories will be added to that amount.

You can see the  specif amount of calories for the day by going to your Dashboard online on your "Settings". By clicking on Log > Activity. If you hoover the mouse on the time line you will get more details.
