I've had my Surge since last October and am very happy with it. Last week during a 50 mile backpacking trip through the Sierra Nevada mountains I slipped on a rock during a thunderstorm and fell cracking the glass on my surge. Thought I would be able to log a week with over a 120,000 steps but since it was raining, I put it my backpack in case water got through the cracks of the screen.
Anyway, I called customer support today explaining what happened. I asked how I could get the glass replaced. Customer service said that they couldn't replace the glass and suggested going to a watch repair shop. This is not what I was expecting. I wasn't trying to get anything free, I just what it fixed with the factory glass. Maybe Fitbit shoud consider more options for their customers. Nice product but poor service. I guess its time to look at a different brand.
