Is 30% inaccuracy rate acceptable for a Surge?

I regularly run a 3.4 mile loop and have had variable milage readings from my FitBit Surge, usually plus or minus half a mile. I understand the reasons for GPS variability. However, today the Surge was off by a full mile! Is this an acceptable variance or is there something functionally wrong here? The variability is making this device pretty useless for anything other than telling time.

Hello, @AnneinAcadia! Thanks for joining us! Heart I have a question, the day that it was off by a mile, how was the weather?
