Is it possible to get a bib/buzz every 500 meter or 1 km when I walk?

1. If it is possible, where do I activate that and the settings for it?

When walking it is very difficult to see the Distance (very small text) I have walked up to now on the walk, but the Time Gone is very easy to see (big text), and then the Pace again is very small. I don't have my reading glasses with me on my walks, so I can only read the Time when I am on my walks. I don't have any thing to use the time for if I don't have information about Distance and Pace.

2. Is it possible to change what I want to have big and small?

All the best

@rip59! Yeap, I'm here! Sorry for the delay! Cat Embarassed It is nice to see you around btw. Uhhhm... The first request, you can do it by putting distance as your mainly goal progress and specifically adjust it to 500 meters or whatever you want.

  • To do so, go to the settings on your main dashboard and choose Distance

  • Then, choose your Today tile and hove over your mouse at the lower left corner until you see a little wheel to click on it

  • Finally, change the goal to the specific distance that you want.

Regarding your other request about the text, there is currently no option to do this, however it would be great if you could do it! Thanks so much for your idea, I invite you to post it on the Feature Suggestion board and then you can share the link here, so we can vote for it! Heart

I hope this helps, let me know!

Hi

First, I can't find the menu's described by you, but looking at the screen-dumps, I can se that you are using a App on a Phone or so, I am using a computer/browser/fitbit.com.

But from the screen-dumps I think that the settings you are changing is the over all settings for my goal for a day. I am quite pleased with the these setting as they are right now.... Even I can't find the place to change them right now 😉

So I am sorry for misleading you in the first hand. Where I want to change the settings, is the settings for using the EXERCISE/WALK function on my Surge. The reason for this is that i want to use it for optimising my walk with interval walking, eg. 500 meter for full speed and the next 500 meter with normal walk and so on. As I wrote earlier I can't read the distance on the Surge without my reading glasses, so to turn on the buzz indication would be perfect. So now, where do I do that?

Regarding changing the display on the SURGE, I have made a suggestion as you wanted it:

Is it understandable?

You can set it up following the instructions below and using freerun instead of walk.

Tracking your splits during a run You can track your splits when you run so that Fitbit Surge notifies you each time you meet a predetermined time or distance. This run tracking feature, known as “run cues,” helps you better track your progress during a run. Use the Free Run exercise to take advantage of the ability to track splits in real time.

1. Log in to your fitbit.com dashboard.

2. Click the gear icon in the top right corner of the page and select Settings.

3. Using the navigation tabs on the left, find Run Cues. 4. Specify whether you want to track distance or time and the distance or duration.

5. Sync your Surge to update your tracker with the next setting. To force your Surge to sync, complete these steps:

a. Click the Fitbit Connect icon located near the date and time on your computer.

b. With your Surge nearby, click Sync Now.

2. When you’re ready to track a run, display the Menu on your Surge, then swipe to Run.

3. Press the Select button or tap the screen, then swipe to Free Run.

4. While you are running, your Surge will notify you when you meet the time or distance you specified.

Well well this worked fine. But under settings, what the heck do I need 0.8-km for, I need 0.5-km and 1.0-km. 😉

Thanx for helping 🙂
