Is there a replacement repair kit for the Surge?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Recently the band on my Surge failed at the point where it attaches to the body.
No replacement band kit is available.
Luckily my Surge was still within its warranty period , so a relatively easy process had them supply a complete new unit.
I suggest that they start designing a replacement band kit complete with the tool required to secure the 4 mounting screws as this will be an ongoing issue with this model.
If it was a $10 fitness tracker it wouldnt be an issue , Just buy a complete new unit but the Surge is a$300 + unit.
I look forward to being advised that band kit is in the
Pipeline!
But credit where credit is due Fitbit Australia were very courteous and prompt in the replacement of my unit,
Thankyou

It's a nice idea but my understanding is that the electronics are built into the band so it may not be that straightforward.

the 4 screws don't secure the band, but close the body.

the band is just glued, and be easily glued again with cyanolit-gel.

I'm afraid there's a technical limitation on your suggestion; Fitbit does not have a replacement band kit for the Surge since it isn't designed to be interchangeable with other bands. This is because the tracker is built into the wristband.

In this case, the best course of action is the one you've taken; which is to reach out to our Support team and explain the situation. I'm glad to know that they helped you get back on track. Smiley Very Happy

I can see this as being an ongoing issue and the fact that a new device will need to be purchased every time the band fails when it is out of warranty is not acceptable in this day and age! The Surge is not a cheap item and i am sure that After the warranty period has expired and IF Fitbit will not supply a replacement then the Australian consumer is covered by consumer law which would ( due to the cost of the item) would then kick in and should suggest that the item be replaced as it is not fit for purpose .
