My surge has been gradually getting worse with bluetooth sync on each app upgrade. Now it will not sync with my phone at all. I have restarted the watch, removed and reinstalled the app, restarted the phone. Each numerous times. And it is not only mine, my GF's watch is doing the same thing with a different phone. Notifications come through ok, although they are delayed if I leave my phone at my desk, it seems to take awhile for the phone and watch to refind each other, but if I keep the phone on my they work fine. And it syncs with my computer just fine, and on older versions of the app had no issues with my phone.
As for the heat issue, it has always turned off in the summer if I am outdoors in the sun, the watch gets extremely hot on the face and shutsdown. I figured it was just the 90+ temps. However this weeked I was out in temps around 80 and the same thing. I watched during the days and it was doing it any time the temp outside was over around 70.
Rather frustrating to have a fitness watch that 1) will not sync with my phone anymore and 2) shuts off when I am outside. With the watch shutting off in the warm weather and not syncing with my phone it is also no longer even a watch as the time is always off by however long it was off. At least when it would sync I could use it as an overpriced time piece that monitored some of the fitness stats.

Hi there @SRHilden. Good to see you in the Fitbit Community! 🙂
I would strongly recommend restarting your tracker by pressing and holding the left and lower right buttons for 10-12 seconds. This will make your tracker to dim and once it's all the way off, you can press any button to bring it back on. Also make sure to turn off and on your bluetooth on your phone and this should help with the syncing issues.
Now, when it comes to the operating temperature of the tracker, in the user's manual, it says taht the operating temperature range is from -4° to 113° F (-20° to 45° C) and it stops operating in the range of -22° to 140° F (-30° to 60° C) for you to take this into consideration.
Try the suggestions above and let me know how it goes!
