Issues with the surge screen not swiping

Has anyone else managed to resolve the issue regarding the screen not swiping on the Fitbit surge. Mine still not resolved after trying several times to rest. Contacted Fitbit and they only want me to purchase a new one.

@weeharps are you expecting Fitbit to give support on out of warranty trackers? I wouldn't. Buy a new one or fix the one you have. It sounds as if your digitizer isn't functioning properly. You can buy just the screen/digitizer module to replace yourself if you're comfortable working with small electronics, or purchase a new tracker. Cheers!

Many thanks for your reply and information, I've decided to just bin it and use my Garmin forerunner 630 as my everyday watch instead of just when I go running. Kind regards Brian

@weeharps what are the benefits of the Garmin? I've never used one and have always been curious. Uninterested in leaving Fitbit just like learning. Please don't throw your Surge in the garbage. I'd gladly send you a prepaid shipping label to send it to me to use for parts if you seriously don't want it, no reason to add to the growing landfill problem 🙂 LOL

PS. Have a great run! I'm heading out for one soon, this weather is amazing!

Good afternoon, I use to use the Fitbit for my everyday thing's step's and calories etc. I always used my Garmin forerunner for running more dynamics and accuracy with the chest strap HR. I do miss my Fitbit for my daily routines I am thinking about purchasing a Fitbit ionic for everyday use. Hope you enjoyed your run

Thanks, @weeharps it was a great run, and perhaps the last of the season, it dropped from 77F to 30F overnight. Time to dust off the old treadmill? Friends using Garmin have reported similarly, of greater detail. I've lost some Fitbit friends who switched, though fortunately connected on Facebook, one amazing man went from his couch to running ultras and is incredibly inspiring to me. I digress. I've heard great things about the Ionic, I'll be getting my first one this week, whether it works or not I'll learn soon, someone was selling his used Ionic for $5 on eBay as he lost the cable, and I happen to have cables for Ionic. Cheers!
