Logging Floor/Stair Counting (moved from other board)

I am looking to do a similar post but can't find the web page. August, 2016 got a Charge as a gift. After about 3 days it stopped counting floors/stairs. I tried everything so returned it.

Now I have a new Surge. Did the setup last Sunday and began using it. I loved it until yesterday, Wednesday, afternoon when it suddenly stopped counting floors/stairs. Again, I tried everything from the recommended reset/restart to sweeping the floor with mt tracker hand at the bottom of the stairs right before climbing and reaching for the ceiling at the top, all without success.

Barring a solution to the problem, I'll be looking for a way to "Log" them manually but that will be a last resort. It is the automated part of the tracker that is so appealing to me.

The Solution

Yesterday I fiddled with it while watching TV. Subsequently, I did a couple of chores indoors. At one point I looked at the Surge to see my Steps, etc. and was taken aback when it showed I had climbed Stairs twice! I went to the stairs and went up. It showed 3. Yesterday I totalled 10 Floors!

So what changed? The "tightness" around my wrist. These trackers have very sensitive, sophisticated electronics, which I've now come to appreciate. The rule of thumb is, "Not too loose, not too tight" for accurate results. My Surge is giving me 100% feedback, accurate feedback (after tweaking such things as my height, age, weight) and finding the correct tightness and location: the sweetspot.

I hope this is of help to others!

Any looser and it doesn't detect my HR. any tighter and it cuts off circulation.

Thanks though!

Ps... Raining and storms today. Not tracking floors. Clear day yesterday, tracked every single one.
