You gotta be kidding me- Inline and or Roller Skating is a huge part of my fitness routine and you guys have found a way to leave a way to track this out of your exercises... This really makes no sense, even Runkeeper found a way to give us a skating option. I understand that it's difficult to track this perfectly and I'm smart enough to choose the Biking option, but at least add one for skating please, it makes no sense that it's not there at this point...
Also, Facebook is still very popular so why in the back can't I simply post everything I did for the day for people to see? I'm pround I went over 15,000 steps.. I'm also proud that I burned nearly 4000 calories.. Why can't I easily share this on facebook? Makes no sense... Love the Surge but don't love that issues like this exist ....

@johneric8 Welcome to the Fitbit Community! There is an option for skating for you to manually log it! Go to Log > Activities > Log activities and type in "skating" and then "log". That way you will be able to track skating activities.
Now, to share activities on Facebook you need to go to the Fitbit app on your mobile device, go to you activity history, tap the exercise you wan to share. You will see this sign , tap on it, and you will have the option to take a picture and send it out to Facebook!
Try that out and let me know how it goes!

I appreciate you taking the time to help. Inputting the info online is really just taking advantage of the APP and not the watch. How do you suggest tracking skating? I know it's not a perfect science, but do you suggest not using one of the preset exercises? If I input the info manually in the log activities section, do you suggest for me to use Runkeeper on my phone or something of that nature? Or, would it be better just to use the Bike exersise preset on the watch? The reason I ask is because I went skating at my local rink and I had my watch tracking me by using the Bike preset, and I also had runkeeper on my phone tracking using their awesome "skating" preset with GPS. So effectively I had two GPS's going at the same time. Honestly they were quite close in stats, I thought that the calorie burn info was very close between the two.
Back to my original post, I still don't understand why you Fitbit doesn't add a "skating" preset in the exersize choices ahead of time. If you can allow Bike to be one of the options why not skating?
Thanks for showing me how to share stats on facebook, but it wants me to take a picture of something and it doesn't allow me to bypass that screen. Am I missing something? Maybe I don't understand how it's suppose to work. I did find my past activities and the share icon, but when I click on it, it wants me to take a picture of something with my phones camera.

@johneric8 I hope you're doing well! I will suggest using the manually log activities option to track your skating after doing the activity. It should give you accurate data about the activity. Runkeeper is awesome to track activities as well, the only problem is that Runkeeper doesn't sync to Fitbit app. Fitbit only syncs calories and sleep to Runkeeper, but nothing from Runkeeper to the Fitbit app, so manually logging the activity will be the best option to track skating.
I agree with you that there should be a preset activity for skating on the Surge. For that reason, I recommend going to the Feature Requests Board and suggesting this idea to be added. I actually found a similar one right here. You can vote for that one or create a new request.
Yes, the share option on the app should allow us to skip the taking a picture step. There is no option for the moment, so what I do is that I take a picture of something interesting that's around me. It could be the landscape of the place I am at or just something random. If I'm feeling okay, I would take a selfie and share it. Remember, you can always ask for the option to skip this step at the Feature Requests Board.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you create a request so I can vote for it!

I appreciate your help! I understand how to manually log activities and that is an okay temporary option, but like you agreed, Skating is an incredible exersize that needs to be represented to make it easier to track.
Thanks for the info in regards to share date options. I do think it's a bit silly to force us to take a photo, I also tried to post to my facebook page using the method you said and taking a photo. The issue was there was no data attached only the photo. Seems at this point, the surge has some work to do to get this fixed... The easiest way for me to do it is by using my snipping tool on my PC to do a screen shot at this time which a little sad and frustrating to say the least....
I'm happy with the Surge though, and I look forward to new updates to enhance it in the future.
