I took a three hour walk with GPS two weeks ago, before i took off i Synced and received the low battery notification about the Surge. 3 hours later the Surge was still correctly recornding my path.
I haven't found the limit but have gone 8 hours with GPS, and still have power left.

Best AnswerRun the SF marathon, started at ~100% and finished after 3:45h with about 25%.
The surge had 8 months back then and it has been used basically every day intensively since i got it.
Played around with the surge alot during the race (keep swiping to check heartrate, steps, etc).
GPS and heartrate tracker was on.
Good luck with yourt first Marathon, really exciting experience.

Hello @will1971! Just to amplify a bit @Rich_Laue and @nicolabortignon's response. According to Surge manual, your fully charged Surge can track a maximum of about 10 hours of activities that use GPS before needing a charge. To ensure that you're always tracking your data, we recommend charging your Surge after any activity that uses GPS.
Hope this helps.
