First of all, I really like my new Surge, and I think Fitbit is an excellent company. However, lately I've been having several problems with my Surge. The first problem is that is has trouble finding GPS, often going 2 or 3 minutes before finding the signal. I've just been using Quick Start, and letting it do it's own thing. But today I went for a bike ride, and it never gave me the Quick Start option. I waited a minute or so, but then I thought 'heck with it' and started anyway. I mean after all, the actual exercise is the most important thing. After another minute, it finally found the signal. And no, I was on a residential street, not next to any tall buildings on a clear day with barely a cloud in the sky. My phone had my gps location before I ever got out of the car. Another thing is that Surge often loses my heart rate completely. There will be a double dash (--) where the heart rate should be, and sometimes that will last a minute or so, before it finally finds it. So, hard time finding gps, no quick start option, and loses heart rate are the main things I'm having trouble with. The other thing that is really no big deal, but quickly getting annoying, is the fact that after two days of exercising, my watch is out of power and I have to recharge it. According to the instructions, I should get about 5 hours on gps, and about 5 days without it. Not even close! I exercise about 45 to 50 minutes a day, and the rest of the time the gps is supposed to be off. Oh one more thing, according to my watch, I climbed two floors today, but I didn't. I don't even have a staircase in my home. So if the fine folks at Fitbit, or anyone else has a solution or solutions for my problems, I'm grateful. I did restart the watch, more than once...
One more thing. Yesterday while exercising, I looked at my watch screen and it looked like there was some moisture accumulating underneath the face. It was like a little dot of fog. After a little while, it went away. I haven't showered with it, took it swimming, or dropped it in water. It's supposed to be water resistant, but clearly not.

Hi, @Timothy.B thanks for stopping by! It's great to see your participation in the forums!
Good to hear that you really like your Fitbit. I'll be happy to help you out with this inquiries you have!
About the GPS having issues connecting, just remember to check the start time and end time, since once in a while the satellite takes a moment to connect with your Surge. Read some tips about it this post. Same thing when tracking bike activities, as GPS gives you a more accurate measure of distance than step counting alone, the actual accuracy depends on both your environment and the weather. You can read more information about accuracy in this help article.
I know that you already troubleshot your Surge performing a restart, thanks for that; but I'd suggest to follow these instructions to help your little buddy when recording your HR information. Same thing with the two extra floors that you mentioned on your post.
About your Surge battery check the information on this post this might help, although it can be related to the moisture on the screen. Have you tried this with your Surge?
Beside the restart it has worked with other users! Good thing is that you have being taking care of it, but remember that water resistance means that it takes sweat and splits; but if you live in a place where the weather is to hot, it can be a reason why it is having that inconvenience. If the suggestion doesn't work we might have to check a diferent option.
Please let me know how this worked for you.
