My 3 year old surge needs to be charged every day

In the past couple of months I have had to charge my Surge more and morew often. I am now down to charging it daily. I plug the charge cable in and after about 10 minutes I get a message to my phone saying that the Surge is fully charged. I still charge it for another 2 hours.

Today for the first time in a very long time I went our for a power walk/run combo for approximately 20 minutes. When I came back the Surge had died. I had charged the device earlier today.

Is this normal age or do I have a faulty unit? Any tips how I can prolong the battery life. I have fiddled around a bit with the device but I do not think I have started anything that should drain the battery.

Thanks in advance

Gunnar

Yeah, I've had mine four years and I have to charge it daily, sometimes twice dependant on what I've used it for. I used to run daily using the GPS but I stopped when an injury put me out for almost a year.  I imagine if I'd still been doing those daily GPS runs it would've died long ago.  My Surge has served me well for those four years but, I've just ordered a Charge 4. #RIPSurge

Lithium batteries have a limited amount of times they can be charged.

Letting the continually drop below 30% also may cause internal damage. Leaving the battery dead for long periods is also bad for the battery.
