Hi All,
I have had my fitbit Surge for more than 2 years. I think the GPS connected about 3 times and that was within the first 3 weeks of purchasing it. Im an avid runner and have attempted to fix and use this watch, but never had any luck. After using the Surge for a while without GPS, i found it more convenient to run with a standard watch as it was smaller and lighter, after all, I only used the Surge for keeping the time anyway (my normal watches did this and didn't lose charge every week).
Long story short, I pulled it out again this past week to give it a another go and its still the most expensive paper weight ive ever owned.
I gave it a red hot go! Ive spent some 6 hours this week reading forums to see if their was a fix or to see if i was doing something wrong, but nothing....... here i am writing this to the WWW.
Please God of the WWW please direct me on how to fix this stupid watch!
FYI
Updated software/firmware
Im using it outside
There are no buildings or trees around.
Yes Im frustrated.....

Hi, @chriscamero, well, it probably would have been better to have raised this when it was new, because then it could have been replaced under warranty if it is actually faulty...
However, if it has connected in the past it should be able to connect, so that's a good sign. If you have spent 6 hours on fhe internet trying to solve this, I probably can't add much, but just in case...
First I would say restart your Surge. Do it 3 times.
Then go outside into an open area and tap firmly to select Run. The next screen should show a little satellite icon and a heart icon (hopefully it does!) Press the bottom right button to confirm your selection and on the next screen you will see the satellite searching screen.
Now here is where you need to be impatient. The first time it finds a satellite in a certain area can take quite a while. Relax for 10-15 minutes (don't start running) and see if it will connect. If so, the next time it should connect faster, as I think the watch GPS can "remember" where it last connected.
Well, let us know if this helps at all. If not, you can get in touch with Fitbit Customer Support, as I believe they are often willing to give a discount on a new product for customers with trackers out of warranty.
Good luck!
