Welcome to the Fitbit Community @Monika.Cross. This shouldn't occur. If you haven't done it already, please restart your Surge. Additionally, you can set it up as a replacement device. Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes.
Catch you later.

How do you restart it?
My husband has the same problem with wrong time.
I have managed to sort mine out by removing it from the bluetooth connectivity on my phone. The fitbit reconnected itself and the time was correct. My husband tried the same and did not have success

@Monika.Cross You can click the word "restart" in my post above. It has a link that will send you to the restart instructions. This might fix the issue with your husband's Fitbit tracker too.
Keep up the super stepping.
