With the very hot and steamy summer we've been having this year combined with piling on lots of running miles since the weather warmed up (over 450 since the start of June), my Surge has developed the infamous condensation pattern on the screen face, which, beyond making the tracker hard to read, prevents me from swiping from one screen to the next. 😞
Last night I got out a food storage container, filled it with rice and parked my Surge in the rice with the cover snapped in place and left it on the kitchen counter. I put the tracker back on this morning while working in the barn and for my trip into work, then back in the rice until lunch when I go out for a run. I'm hoping over the course of a week this will dry my Surge out enough to clear up the screen and get the screen swipe working again.
Stay tuned.

That sounds like a plan! Good luck, amd keep us posted how it goes.
And congratulations on the running. That's a lot of miles!

Update:
Three nights and the better part of two days in the container of rice has improved the condensation a little bit, however, not enough to give me much confidence my Surge will once again be fully functional.
My original Surge was replaced in May due to a stuck upper right button which became inoperable, and now, over fifteen months after my original purchase, the folks at Fitbit will no longer replace my unit; apparently they feel a fair deal is to offer me a 25% discount on a new Surge. I told the Customer Service Representative to not go through the trouble of sending me the discount offer as I will not buy another unit with a high likelihood of early failure.
Next stop? Garmin, probably a Vivoactive HR.

A quick update; I've been keeping my Surge in the rice container for a week now and the results are pretty good. The condensation under the screen is all but gone, however, screen swipe is still very spotty (it'll work maybe 1 out of 100 times regardless of how often I restart the Surge).
My current plan is to milk the Surge as long as I can and then replace it with something more reliable.
