My husband's Surge came without a USB dongle.  How big a problem is this?  Can he still use it or should he return it?

Hi @FaithWarmheart  the dongle is the bean shaped device that fits in the computer's usb port and acts as a bridge to upload data from the Fitbit to the servers. If your husband uses his smartphone to sync, he won't need a dongle. A dongle isn't included in the newer styles of Fitbit, as they were many years ago.
