I took my surge off and set it aside for a day to rest my wrist. It wasn't charging. When I put it back on, it had logged 800k steps one day and 500k by 4 am the next. Now all my stats are jacked, and I have all these badges if never earn.

Welcome @jfish1976! I'm sorry to know about this. As @WendyB mentioned this may be caused if you left your tracker nearby a fan or any other device that vibrates. This vibrations, may be recorded as steps by your tracker. The instructions @WendyB provided will definitely help you. If that is not the case or if you experience this again, let me know.
