I tried to sync my new Surge to my Motorola Moto X. It synced fine but them the Surge never got off the Configuration Screen. It just scrolls between the languages. In case it was an issue with my phone, I tried downloading the Fitbit app on my Windows 7 PC. After that completed I see a message bar at the top of the screen saying "Your Surge needs a software update before you can use it." When I click the link for more info, It just takes me to the forum. What am I missing? Is it me or is my device defective?

Welcome to the Forums @HPMII! Your Fitbit Surge needs to be correctly pair to your Fitbit account before start using it. I just have checked out the link for the update instructions, but it seems that it's not working properly. You should try to update it using the PC which is better by following these instructions. If after that the "Get started message'' does not disappear, I highly recommend restarting your tracker and try setting up your Surge one more time.
