Not connecting to lumia 640 but receiving messages from my iPhone?! >:(

Ok. So for the past 3 days we've been furiosuly trying to sort this fit bit issue out with results.

We have two phones, an iphone 5s which is synced to my charge2.

The other phone is a lumia 640 (updated to windows 10) and it is supposed to work with the surge.

However, the lumia will pick up charge2 but refuses to acknowledge the surge.

My iphone will pick the surge up, and to try and help i connected with it and updated the fitbit thinking maybe that would allow it to be detected by the lumia.

We have also now synced it to my mac via the dongle, but it still won't come up on the lumia which is absoloutely infuriating as the website specifies they are compatible.

The new problem on top of this is: when my iphone now recieves a text, the surge is picking up the notification even though it is no longer connected to my phone and is on a different account.

So you can imagine the amount of headbanging we are doing trying to sort it.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Hi, @freckles47, it sounds like your Surge is still connected via Blue Tooth to the iPhone, even though it is not connected in the Fitbit app.  Go to the iPhone Blue Tooth and remove the Surge in the BT settings.  You might also need to restart the iPhone after disconnecting.

Once it is disconnected from the iPhone it will probably be detected by the Lumia, but make sure all BT devices are well out of the way (maybe turn off BT on any other phone).  The Surge is definitely compatible with the Lumia 640 -- I had my Surge connected to it.

I hope this helps.  Let us know how it goes.  Welcome to the Community.

Hello @freckles47, and welcome to the Fitbit Community!.

As @Julia_G mentioned, it seems your Surge is still bonded to the Bluetooth on your iPhone 5S from when you connected with it, which explains why you're receiving text messages from your iPhone.

To remove the bond, on your iPhone go to Settings > Bluetooth and when Surge appears on the list of paired devices, tap on it and select Forget this Device, then turn off your iPhone and open the Fitbit app on you Lumia, a sync should occur whenever the app is opened.

Give it a try and keep me posted in case you need anything else. Smiley Wink
