Hi
Sorry if this is answered elsewhere but I am new to Fitbit.
My Surge seems to count gearchanges whilst driving and other hand actions as steps counted. Also when I park in the upper floors of a multi-story carpark it thinksI have climbed multiple stairs.
Is there a way to temporarily disable step and stair count but still have basic functions like time displayed. Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

Hello @FCE-NI welcome to the Fitbit Community! I will be happy to answer your question 🙂 Our engineers have worked diligently on your tracker's algorithms to make sure that it does not pick up false steps or activity recordings while in a car. Unless you are driving in a car with a stiff transmission or on back country roads, your tracker should not give you credit for any work that you don't do.
If you do pick up some steps while driving, see Can I delete data? for instructions on removing steps. Also you can use the Drivebit app it is available for Android and iOS users.
Let me know if this helps! 🙂
